SONGWRITING

Outside of solo project ‘Writer’s Rain’, Nina Sundstrom is a versatile and accomplished freelance songwriter based near Bristol. Nina has enjoyed co-writing with musicians across folk, pop and dance music, pitching songs to artists with previous international hits, including a group who reached number 2 in the official UK singles charts as well as topping the US billboard chart. Recently awarded first place in the 18+ Unlock your Talent songwriting competition, she has been praised for writing thematically focused lyrics that draw on archetypal human experiences, yet avoid feeling cliché and overplayed. The results are a great variety of songs that wouldn’t feel out of place among writers like Carol King and Joni Mitchell, and equally fit among contemporary artists such as those on the Dead Oceans roster.
